No really, I am. A small black plastic camera came into my life in December and has been patiently waiting for me to unwrap him and press his buttons. And I finally have… and now I know what true love is. My Holga camera will be coming with me today as I drive off with my family into the middle of nowhere for a few days of R&R.
This means I am now shooting with film, and have no idea how the pictures will turn out until i get the negs back from the lab – this is the photography I remember, and it feels good to be returning to my roots. The further I travel along this path the closer I get to what it is I am wanting to achieve, artistically speaking. So I’ve packed my notebook and pen, and my camera(s) and film, and I’m leaving in half an hour… life is good.

Gorgeous, darling!
I love your Holga banner and that shot of the blue hut with the light “scratches” and the shadowing around the edge. There really is nothing quite so beautiful (and in this case nostalia inducing) as a few lovely flaws.
Enjoy your family get away. See you ever so soon.

I have been playing with mine for the past month or so and ADORE it. Love the pictures you’re sharing too. There are some great Flickr Holga groups out there if you haven’t looked for them yet, you should when you have some time to kill.
Also, I wanted to tell you that my old blog (the journey) is gone. I’m now at http://themad1s.blogspot.com, I hope you’ll stop by some time!

Hi there,
I have found my way to you via our friend Frida who has raved about you and your beautiful photos. Hi! I recently bought a Holga too, and am experimenting although I must say my results are pretty shitty compared to yours so far.
I was wondering if you have a special online site for developing and printing the Holga 120 films? I tried Snappy Snaps but they are expensive and not the best quality. Would appreciate a trade secret here.
Thanks xx
