Back from the future

Bath_1
From the moment we arrived, I knew I was home. So many new possibilities have opened up to me, I’m exhilarated, and terrified too. I’ve come home only to slump in my chair and wonder how I’m going to make this happen. But now that I have a direction to head in, the horizon seems so much closer. Closer than it has been in over three years. More soon, when I’ve pulled myself together.

  1. Oh Susannah, I am so jealous, you are moving to Bath! I felt exactly the same as you when I moved there in 2002, I was instantly at home. And I never thought I could do it, either, and suddenly I owned a tiny flat in one of the crescents (Norfolk Crescent) with the most gorgeous view. Bath was my tonic and it mended my heart and soul. I thought for sure that I was going to stay forever. And then I moved away again only two years later because I had met the man who was going to be my husband and take me to the US.
I’ve just come back from my Europe trip and spent a day in Bath two weeks ago; my heart doesn’t ache quite so much anymore, but Bath will always occupy a large corner within. Bath has healing powers beyond your imagination, you will see! This is the perfect place for you, I can totally see you there :)

  6. You too have fallen in love with Bath?! That’s wonderful. It was love at first sight in my case, and a deep knowing that this city was to be the scene for the next few chapters of my life. And indeed, a few months later we left Ireland to move there. We made it happen! And some things actually simply happened by themselves. That was 15 months ago. I am where I was/am meant to be.
Wishing you all the best and more with this.

  7. Oh! I live just eight miles away now. Grew up in glorious Bath and lived there for my 20s. We’re there all the time. The air in Bath is different – I breathe in and yes…I’m home too. If you ever feel like hanging out with a complete stranger from the internets…come and find me!

  8. Hi, just found your blog, and I really love your photos. The way you capture the feeling and emotion of the place by sharing both the little details of a place and then the overall scene as well! This is a wonderful blog, it is now bookmarked it and I will return again!

Feeling exhilarated and terrified at the same time.. believe me, I can relate to that at the moment.
I’m excited beyond belief for you and I can’t wait to see where this new path you’re on will lead you and what Bath (which looks absolutely beautiful in your lovely photographs) has in store for you.
    Much love! xoxo

  13. Wow! I love that Kerstin shared that same special healing connection with Bath – I am sooooo excited that you’ve found the right next step and I have absolute faith that since you’ve waited until the next step was really the right one, it will now start to come easier. love you babe. xoxox

  15. I’ve only been to England once and the very best day I had was in Bath. The internet makes the world so large and grand and then in the next moment so precious and intimate, yes? Seeing your photos, I feel as if I were standing there again :) Thank you for that and absolutely all the luck in the world to you on your journey!
(p.s. I get the notes from the Universe, too, and wow do they ever start my day of right :)
