~ Oh, Montreal ~

Boulangerie500

Walking around the streets of Montreal was rather like being in the most extraordinary mixed-media painting; there was so much colour and texture, all collaged together into one big of mess of sumptuosity. Honestly, if it wasn't for the all the snow in the winter, I could see myself living there. Have i mentioned how attractive the men are in Montreal? They all look like sexily-deshevelled graphic designer types who carry leather-bound portfolios and laptops, and sit in coffee shops "working". Love it.

This week Jan is hosting an Autumn Colour Week over at Poppytalk – yesterday the colour was yellow, and as I sorted through my photos for this post i kept uncovering yellow: Montreal is such a sunshiny city.

How thoroughly odd. I was reading your blog, went to twitter, saw you’d posted some Montreal pics, then came straight back. And what warm evocative pictures they are. And Bodyrock? Doesn’t it open with something like ‘Born on a hungry street’. And your first picture is a boulangerie/patisserie. Your subconscious is clearly in control.

  5. swoon. this is why i love my city so much. colorful streets, colorful people. you captured it SO well. it’s too bad about the snow because you would fit right in here. although… you should see the men in the winter with their wool hats and scarves. meow!

  12. So lovely. Spring and Fall are definitely the time to visit this city… full-on Summer or Winter do me in. Although if you are one of those heat-seeking people perhaps you would love the Summer too, with all the terraces and the festivals. And yes Jeanine, the men in their winter gear is a not-too-shabby attraction too! I really can’t complain. ; )
But, what the locals really want to know is: what did you think of poutine???
