A writer’s food diary

I’m finding the simple act of photographing my food is the perfect way to bring my attention back to the day and away from the words for a while. Writing is so heady; taking photos rests my poor old brain. Biscuits also help ;-)

Have to give a big thumbs-up to the malted milk biccies, Orla Kiely book and hot cross buns!
WORD.
I am coveting all of your crockery!
I’m loving the tableware…great photos :)
I agree that photo-taking can be a nice stress reliever and an escape – especially when food is the subject! You’ve got some really lovely food photos here, I thoroughly enjoyed them all!
Susannah – I would love to purchase a scan of the NICE biscuit photo – I’m serious. I’m dying in love for it :)
Also, you’re really motivating me to reconsider my all white dishes. I do love how they set off food, but lady, your assortment of printed dishes is so divine – and look divine with food, too. . .hmmm, this might be a new collecting activity for me :)
hee! bless your heart – it’s a crappy low-res pic, though – taken with the Instagram app which unfortunately doesn’t save to high res :(
two of my favourite things … photography & food … love these images: the colour, the simplicity & of course i’m a sucker for some pretty bowls! gorgeous chica. i hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. xx
Oh, all of these images of food are extraordinarily comforting. You know, I don’t read “food blogs” anymore — there was always something about the perfectly-photographed food that made me nervous, and feel badly about my suppers of tinned oysters, cheese and maybe a banana — but these Instagram images are just so much more… relaxed. And homey.
As an already established fellow mash-lover, I am delighted to see fried eggs feature in your reportoire too.
what a fantastic idea!!
and its kind of nice to see yummy healthy pics.. i guess the junk food would make you cringe later..
i only just discovered your blog.. love it!!
When I sit down to dinner with my friends (most of whom are techies and bloggers), no one ever picks up a fork until they snap a picture of their dish.
We call it “Blogger’s Grace”.
Your plates! I just love them all :)
wow – you’re so healthy! Wish I could eat like this whilst doing my art work!

I’m loving the dishes. Cool pics.
I’ve got a serious case of plate-envy! My granny had the lovely blue plate in the top picture and my mum had the one with the orange on it in the 70s- it was famous I think, altho can’t remember the name!
this is just gorgeous!
I love those NICE cookies, one of my faves along with Bourbon Creams!! I stock up whenever I visit my grandma in Ireland. Great photos!
