And know that whatever you have is enough :) Susan I’m so glad that you’ve the peonies…about the rain, well…. Delia The serendipity is wonderful…I wrote this poem of Mary Oliver’s out in my journal this morning. Now I’ll give it to you, like a handful of blossoms. Love to you, D. Peonies by Mary Oliver This morning the green fists of the peonies are getting ready to break my heart as the sun rises, as the sun strokes them with his old, buttery fingers and they open — pools of lace, white and pink — and all day the black ants climb over them, boring their deep and mysterious holes into the curls, craving the sweet sap, taking it away to their dark, underground cities — and all day under the shifty wind, as in a dance to the great wedding, the flowers bend their bright bodies, and tip their fragrance to the air, and rise, their red stems holding all that dampness and recklessness gladly and lightly, and there it is again — beauty the brave, the exemplary, blazing open. Do you love this world? Do you cherish your humble and silky life? Do you adore the green grass, with its terror beneath? Do you also hurry, half-dressed and barefoot, into the garden, and softly, and exclaiming of their dearness, fill your arms with the white and pink flowers, with their honeyed heaviness, their lush trembling, their eagerness to be wild and perfect for a moment, before they are nothing, forever? Roxanne … and that is enough … blue bicicletta Oh, beautiful photos—what a great sequence and such dreamy tones. And Delia, thank you for sharing that divine poem! I love Mary Oliver–the beginning of her poem “Wild Geese” hangs in my mind all the time: You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. Neil Could be worse. I love the sound of the rain. beth and that’s enough due to how beautiful they are… holly-uk seeing these rose petals like this just makes me stop and think about how wonderful, how soft, beautiful, fragile, soothing, comforting these roses are! im just in awe of nature!!! thankyou for this!! x duet letterpress very beautiful Anya Russinova Beautiful pictures.
